C'est La "menage a trois" Thankful Thursday...

So first off, I would like to thank the generous designers and creators who have spoiled us during blogger appreciation week, and special props to the devine Ms. Cline for getting the ball rolling. When I first started blogging, I was so intimidated by "THE" Designers, but then a random conversation revealed, some Designers were just as intimidated by bloggers, and that gave me a new perspective on the designer/blogger relationship... a sorta "we are all in this thing together" sorta dysfunctional fashion family!

The skybox shuffle..

I am Elusyve and I have a skybox addiction...

Its like I am on a continual quest for the "perfect" skybox. The definition of "perfect" is in constant change, making it almost unobtainable. Some of the unchangeable are: Low Prim, quality texturing and overall inspirational space appeal.

My current needs are for use mainly as my photo studio. The studio I now use is tall and wide, making the majority of ones I own unusable or too crowded to feel comfortable. I also like to have a little sitting/relaxing area in it too. And, being the giving sharing elf I am, I like to let Winter have a little space to work of his own as well, even if it does end up being on the roof *G*

Speaking of Winter, he can confirm this addiction, and I am sure he is keeping count of the times he has teleported, only to free fall from 3000 meters, because I have changed it and the location again.. good thing wampyres bounce*eg*

I suppose I could easily build what I need, but then I wouldn't be doing my part to support our SL economy, and I wouldn't get the chance to see and be inspired by the talents of so many builders.

So Winter.. if you are teleporting today... ummm sorry.. I logged out before I got a chance to fix it...LOL

3rd place, its better than no place...LOL

Ever since I won the Photolife studio, I've been getting more into the photo competitions. I think a lot of it has to do with finding a group of supportive, helpful, creative and INSANE people, that enjoy it as much as I do. My latest placing was 3rd in the DollyRock competition. At this stage of my skill, I think that having a goal, or theme/topic to shoot, gives me focus to both develop creatively as well as technically.

I know I will probably not achieve the level of beauty that those I admire do. I lack the photoshop expertise that takes the photo to that next level of art. But this is ok, I am happy to see my own skills improving, and developing my own style and vision.

I know that sometimes I see things way differently that others. But that again is the joy of the individual and perception. I believe that we should create for ourselves first, and it is an added bonus if others enjoy and/or are inspired by our creations. We all love praise and acceptance, and I am no different. It gives me a happy fuzzy when one of my shots are noticed in a competition.. kind of like.. wow, I am doing a little something right or I am on the right path, because I despite creating for myself, I doubt my own vision and skills, and often wonder if my perception is clouded by my need to please.

I am thinking I am not alone in self doubt, its what makes us continue to improve.

First.. I know I havent blogged much about Second Life on this blog lately... its almost become a oh look at the youtube she is watching now sorta thing, I guess I am just in limbo at the moment about the direction I want for this blog. Its always been a casual, whatever blog, but I want it to have "some" secondlife content. Often the videos reflect my mood in RL and SL, I don't separate the two very well, but I think that that is just who I am, and its not about to change.
